Lawmakers are heading towards a discussion of a state permit to dredge the Savannah River.
The Ports Authority Ad Hoc Committee of the Charleston County Legislative Delegation is met yesterday in Mount Pleasant.
The Department of Health and Environmental Control’s approval of South Carolina permits to deepen the shipping channel to the Georgia ports disturbed some state lawmakers.
They believe that this is the way for Georgia to get a competitive advantage over Charleston’s port.
