3sun Group, a specialist provider of products and services to the energy industry has announced the opening of a new base in Westhill, near Aberdeen, on the back of a number of key contract wins in the North Sea.

The company has recently secured contract wins totalling approximately £7million to carry out major engineering, production, installation and commissioning (EPIC) contracts using the combined divisions within the group, to offer a true one-stop shop solution. Turnover is predicted to double to £15million by the end of this year, mainly on the back of rising volumes of UK offshore work.

As a result of this growth, 3sun has appointed a new business development manager and the Group is planning to take on additional staff and open a workshop facility in the region over the next 12 months.

Graham Hacon, managing director at 3sun Group , said: “Our aim is to establish our presence in key strategic locations in the UK and Aberdeen is a core location for the continual growth of the company. By opening our office in Aberdeen, we are ensuring that we are available to our clients in the region at short notice.

“3sun has a good reputation for building and retaining relationships with customers, through the provision of an integrated offering of high quality products and services. We plan on bringing this level of service to our clients in the North-east.”

3sun Group is headquartered in Great Yarmouth, England, and also has bases in Lowestoft and Oban. 3sun has recently opened a further operational centre in Bergen, Norway to help support ongoing rapid growth and is currently looking at other UK and overseas locations.

3sun Group employs 175 staff offshore and onshore and is currently working on several projects in the UK and Europe. The Group has extensive overseas experience having worked in Europe, Asia, Africa, USA and New Zealand.
