The second semi-submersible drilling rig COSL Innovator produced by Yantai CIMC Raffles Offshore Ltd (CIMC raffles) for COSL Drilling Europe AS (CDE) departed from CIMC raffles on 8:00 AM 21th Dec 2011. Approximately 120 employees from the yard attended the see off Ceremony.

It is the second deep water semi-submersible drilling platform built by Yantai CIMC Raffles Offshore Ltd. for COSL Drilling Europe AS , a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Oilfield Services Limited (hereafter refers to COSL), and it is also the fifth semi-submersible drilling rig delivered by CIMC Raffles in the past one year, which indicates CIMC Raffles as the first offshore enterprise in China for possessing the ability of delivering such rigs in batch. After the departure, COSLinnovator will sail to Norway by the 6 thrusters themselves, and will pass Singapore, Cape of Good Hope, etc.

The journey is more than 15000 nm and will take hundred of days to reach Norway. The drilling preparation jobs will be started then. To ensure the successful journey, CIMC sends two TCT engineers together with the rig for warranty issue.
