Unique Maritime Group, one of the world’s leading integrated turnkey subsea and offshore solution providers, announces the official launch of its office in St. Petersburg, Russia. The establishment of the facilities comes as part of a planned international expansion strategy, as the company is looking to further develop its presence across Europe.
“ The opening of our Russian entity will be a fundamental milestone for UMG and will help increase further awareness of our internationally acknowledged products and solutions across Europe and the Russian Federation, ” said Harry Gandhi, CEO of Unique maritime Group. “Our Russian base will be instrumental in our ambitious growth strategy. We will be marketing and providing world-wide support of a potentially revolutionary item of personal diving equipment that has the ability to improve diver’s safety together with enhanced commercial benefits to the operating company.”
A total of 11 engineers were employed, in early September 2011, and are already involved in the design and development of personal diving equipment for use by commercial divers. The office and facilities will be led by Phil Newby, Director of Unique System Rus LLC, who will oversee the team in the Russian Federation.
Commenting on the launch, Phil Newby said, “ I am pleased to be involved in such an exciting challenge with the growth of UMG into the region and the prospect of producing a wide range of world leading technologies.”
