Forge Group Limited announced that its wholly owned subsidiary Cimeco Pty Ltd has entered an agreement with Chicago Bridge and Iron (CB&I ), one of the world’s leading engineering, procurement and construction companies, to provide civil and concrete services for the early stages of the Australia Pacific LNG Project in Gladstone, Queensland.

This $90 million contract is Forge’s first foray into the Queensland market and includes procurement and construction of the civil and concrete works required for the installation of 2 x 160,000 cubic metres LNG tanks.

Work is expected to commence in the first quarter of calendar year 2012 and is scheduled to be completed by the end of calendar year 2013.

“ We are very proud to have been selected by one of the world’s leading engineering companies to participate in the initial stages of what is a major Australian energy development project ,” Cimeco Managing Director and Forge Director Andrew Ellison said.

“ The contract is our first with CB&I, one of the world’s largest engineering companies and reflects Forge’s growing client list of blue chip customers.

This is a strategically significant contract for Forge. It is our first foray into the Queensland market and is another step in our plan to build a true national presence. It also ratifies Cimeco’s diversification strategy to provide a full range of construction services.”

Cimeco is looking forward to working with CB&I and establishing a long term and mutually beneficial working relationship.”

CB&I engineers and constructs some of the world’s largest energy infrastructure projects. It has engineering offices and projects located around the world with 18,000 employees providing a range of services to the energy and natural resource industries.
