Recently the HUAHAILONG, Semi-submersible Heavy Lift Vessel being constructed by CMHI for Guangzhou Salvage Bureau of Ministry of Communications, departed Mazhou Island and started the sea trials. Including Mr. Wu Jiancheng, the Deputy Director of Guangzhou Salvage Bureau, Mr. Kan Limin, the deputy General Manager of CMHI, Mr. Tang Jiahe, the Deputy Chief Engineer of CMHI, altogether 150 persons from the owner, the yard, the design institute, and the vendors participated in the trial.
HUAHAILONG is a key project for national maritime salvage plan. The length overall of the vessel is 182.2m, breadth molded 43.6m, depth molded 11m, DWT 30,000t, heavy lift capacity 20,000t, main deck area 6500m2, speed 12 knots, endurance 10,000 nautical miles/60 days, and unrestricted service area.
HUAHAILONG is designed for the salvage of large scale ships, and transportation of offshore structures. The application of HUAHAILONG is going to upgrade the national capability of maritime salvage.
