China will soon put its very first deepwater exploration vessel into use in the South China Sea, according to China Petroleum Daily.
The statement did not indicate in which part of the South China Sea the vessel will be working.
‘Ocean Oil 708’ can work in 3,000 meters water depths and its drilling system can tap 600 meters below the seabed, statement by CNPC said.
CNPC unit, Baoji Oilfield Machinery Co, developed the drilling system for the vessel and delivered it to China Oilfield Services (COSL).
