CMHI Launches Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger Tongheng (China)

Tongheng, the 11000m3 trailing suction hopper dredger being constructed by CMHI, was successfully launched on December 26. Tongheng, the 11000m3 trailing suction hopper dredger being constructed by CMHI, was successfully launched on December 26.

Guests from CCCC, Tianjin Dredging Corporation, MARIC and CCS Shenzhen Branch presented at the ceremony. Emceed by Mr. Tu Fengqing, the Deputy Managing Director of CMHI, Mr. Zhu Guiming, the Managing Director of CMHI, and Mr. Gu Ming, the Deputy Managing Director and Chief Engineer of CCCC Tianjin Dredging Corporation addressed at the ceremony.

Tongheng is invested by CCCC Tianjin Dredging Corporation with 11000m3 hopper capacity. Its dredging depth is up to 40 m. The dredging is designed capable for working in shallow water areas with high breadth to draft ratio. Besides, the speed of the dredger is up to 16 knot at 6600kW engine output.

Tongheng is another important project after Tianjing, the world No. 3 and Asia No. 1 largest self-propelled cutter suction dredger, constructed by CMHI for CCCC Tianjin Dredging Corporation. The launching of Tongheng is a solid milestone of the long term cooperation between CCCC Tianjin Dredging Corporation and CMHI.
