Repsol Sells 5 Percent of Its Shares (Spain)

Repsol YPF said today that it has closed the placement among professional and qualified investors of 61,043,173 of its own shares, representing 5% of the share capital, acquired on December 20th, 2011 at 21.066 euro per share. The shares were placed at 22.35 euro per share for a total amount of 1.36

Repsol YPF said today that it has closed the placement among professional and qualified investors of 61,043,173 of its own shares, representing 5% of the share capital, acquired on December 20th, 2011 at 21.066 euro per share.

The shares were placed at 22.35 euro per share for a total amount of 1.364 billion euro.

This transaction implies a gross increase of Repsol YPF´s equity of 78.4 million euro, which will not impact the company’s earnings.

After this transaction, Repsol YPF will retain 61,043,173 treasury shares, representing 5% of the share capital.

With this transaction, Repsol YPF maintains its prudent and flexible financial policy, strengthening its liquidity, and focuses in the development and achievement of its strategic plan.
