The U.S. Freeport liquefied natural gas terminal is set to re-export a cargo of LNG this month.
The cargo will be shipped by the Golar Grand, a 145,700 m3 tanker, which is due to arrive at Freeport terminal on January 23, according to shipping data.
Freeport is located along the U.S. Gulf Coast on Quintana Island, near Freeport, Texas.
Freeport LNG is proposing to add liquefaction infrastructure at the existing terminal to provide export capacity of approximately 13.2 million metric tonnes per annum of LNG, which equates to processing approximately 1.8 Bcf/d of pipeline-quality natural gas.
The feed gas will be derived from interconnecting intrastate pipeline systems, e.g., Dow Pipeline Company, Kinder Morgan Texas Pipeline, L.P., and Brazoria Interconnector (BIG) Pipeline, through Freeport LNG’s existing Stratton Ridge meter station.
