Huaneng Renewables has selected Sinovel’s 6MW wind turbine for the first stage of a pilot offshore wind farm in Lingang waters.
The company will install 17 offshore wind turbine generators, totaling installed capacity of 102MW.
In May 2011, Sinovel produced the first prototype of this WTG in its production base in Yancheng. The turbine may be applied in onshore, offshore and inter-tidal wind farms.
Sinovel is No 2 wind turbine maker in the world, and No 1 in China, according to the company’s annual report released in April 2011, in Beijing.
