Israel’s Delek yesterday said that it has discovered natural gas after drilling offshore the country’s Mediterranean coast.
“ Tanin #1 exploration well reached target and the partnerships have concluded that strong signs of natural gas were discovered, based on tests carried out during drilling by the operator, Noble ,” the company said in a statement.
The field, located in the Mediterranean waters 120 kilometers northwest off Haifa, reportedly has about 1.3 trillion cubic feet.
