Harwood Marine recently splashed and finished sea trials on a passenger/cargo vessel Tuhaa Pae IV. The vessel was jointly constructed by Harwood Marine and Colorado Shipyard Corporation of Philippines.
The purpose of the vessel is to enhance an existing remote island shipping service. The vessel, capable of carrying limited liquid bulk cargo as well as some hazardous and dangerous goods, was designed by French naval architects Mer et Design. With its shallow draught, the vessel can easily access remote areas of the French Pacific archipelago.
Powered by two of Daihatsu 6DLM-26SL main engines, each producing 1,176kW at 750rpm, Tuhaa Pae IV measures 76.0 m in length, 13.6 m across her beam with a draught of 3.8 m and a depth of 6.0 m. Tuhaa Pae IV can accommodate 98 passengers and a crew of 23.
Harwood Marine is an Australian owned and Managed International Shipbuilding, Marine Construction, Project Management, Design, Engineering and Shipping Transport Group that has been established since 1984. The Shipbuilding/Marine Construction sections specialize in both steel and aluminum projects. Harwood is a Germanischer Lloyd (GL) certified workshop.
