Japan: Mitsui Unit Reduces Stake in INPEX

Mitsui & Co., said today that Mitsui Oil Exploration (MOECO), a subsidiary of Mitsui in which the company has 70.45% equity interest, has sold 12,000 shares (0.3% of issued shares) of INPEX. Mitsui & Co., said today that Mitsui Oil Exploration (MOECO), a subsidiary of Mitsui in which the company has 70.45% equity interest, has sold 12,000 shares (0.3% of issued shares) of INPEX.

Through this transaction MOECO’s interest in INPEX will decrease from 4.8% to 4.5%.

Japan’s INPEX last month made the Final Investment Decision on the US$34 billion Ichthys LNG Project in Australia.
