RasGas has signed an additional LNG sales and purchase agreement with Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS) to supply 2.0 million tonnes of LNG for 20 years from its plant in Qatar to terminals in South Korea, the two companies said in a statement.
RasGas is the largest single supplier of LNG to South Korea and it alreeady ships over 7 million tonnes of LNG per year to KOGAS terminals.
The company produces around 37 million tonnes of LNG per annum.
In 2010, the State of Qatar, through Nakilat and its LNG joint ventures took delivery of the last of 54 LNG tankers and four LPG ships built by South Korea shipyards valued at over US$13.5 billion.
