Norway: STX Brevik Delivers New OSV Island Captain

On Thursday the 16th of February, Island Offshore took delivery of its newest member of the fleet, the Island Captain. Godmother for the vessel is Mrs. Tonje Tiley from ConocoPhillips.

The Island Captains sister vessel, the Island Centurion, was delivered in October 2011. The two vessels make out to be the number 5 and 6 in the series of UT 776 CD that Island Offshore have built at STX OSV Brevik. Further enhancing the Island Offshore standardization policy.

Island Offshore have been awarded a 7 year firm with 4 yearly option contract for both vessels by Schlumberger as Well Stimulation vessels starting in August 2013. Conversion of the vessels will start in November 2012.

“We are extremely happy with this award which is a result of our focus towards specialized segments. Island Patriot and Island Commander are currently employed as Well Stimulation vessels.” said Island Offshore on its website
