DONG Energy has contracted Maersk Drilling’s jack-up rig Maersk Resolve for work on the Hejre field in the Danish North Sea .
The expected duration of the five-well contract is approx 750 days and the contract also includes an option for two additional wells of estimated 280 days’ duration. The contract value for the firm 750-day period is approximately USD 148 million. The contract is expected to commence in the summer of 2014.

Maersk Resolve is the third in a series of four High Efficiency 350 ft jack-up rigs in Maersk Drilling’s fleet. Since its delivery in 2009 the rig has been employed in the Danish North Sea.
Dong Energy and Bayerngas on Monday announced that they would be proceeding with the joint development of the Hejre field. The companies said that the project would be the largest largest development in the Danish part of the North Sea for many years and would benefit all of the supply industry as well as Danish society.
The total investment in the development is estimated at approximately USD2.2 billion and the project is expected to create 500 permanent jobs.
