Azerbaijan: SOCAR Welcomes Qatar Petroleum Delegation

On March 1, SOCAR President Mr. Rovnag Abdullayev met with the delegation led by the CEO of Qatar Petroleum International Mr. Nasser Al-Jaidah at Head office of SOCAR.

Welcoming the guests, SOCAR President stressed the successful development of bilateral relations between Qatar and Azerbaijan and this friendly state’s distinctive place in the world oil and gas market. Expressing gratitude for reception, the CEO of Qatar Petroleum International Mr. Nasser Al-Jaidah praised the recent achievements in rapid economic development of Azerbaijan.

SOCAR President informed the guests on the important role of oil and gas sector in these achievements. Afterwards, the participants were shown presentations on successful implementation of new oil strategy, projects implemented within the “Contract of the Century”, establishment of diversified oil and gas pipelines systems allowing export of oil and gas to the world markets, development prospects of SOCAR, expanding and advancing the infrastructure potential of the Company, as well as investment projects implemented in Azerbaijan and abroad.

According to Mr. Nasser Al-Jaidah, SOCAR and Qatar Petroleum companies play an important role in economic development and energy security of the two countries. Then, the guest gave information to SOCAR President about his company.

During the meeting, the participants discussed the cooperation opportunities between SOCAR and Qatar Petroleum, as well as had exchange of opinions on future cooperation prospects.
