China Merchants Holdings Officials Met with Vice President of Maersk Supply Service

In the morning of 1st March, Mr. Zhou Zhiyu, The CEO & Chairman of China Merchants Industry Holdings Co., Ltd. (CMIH), met with Mr. Ivan Seistrup, Vice President of Maersk Supply Service A/S (MSS) at Mazhou Island Ship Repair & New Building Base.

Mr. Claus T. Sorensen, the Chief Commercial Officer of MSS, Mr. George Zhang, the Global Value Sourcing of Maersk Procurement, Mr. Zhu Guiming, Managing Director of Yiu Lian Dockyards (Shekou) Ltd., also attended the meeting.

Mr. Zhou firstly briefed the guest the business categories of China Merchants Group and focused on the offshore related business operation for China Merchants Mazhou Island Ship Repair & New Building Base. He emphasized that CMHI is quite concern the business co-operation with A.P. Moller – Maersk Group. In recent years, two subsidiaries of CMIH, Yiu Lian Hong Kong and Yiu Lian Shekou have erected very good business co-operation with Maersk Line and Maersk Tanker, so far they have repaired and docked total about 50 vessels, all of the vessels have been redelivered on time in good quality. Mr.Zhou appreciated MSS to award the contract for the conversion project of “Maersk Nomad” to Yiu Lian Shekou and this project symbolized a big step for the co-operation between CMHI and Maersk, achieved the mutation from normal vessel docking to offshore related repairing and conversion. CMHI would seize the opportunities to start the business co-operation with all the marine related business categories of Maersk Group, such as Maersk Line, Maersk tanker, Maersk Supply Service, Maersk FPSO and Maersk Drilling in the fields of docking, repairing, conversion and even new building.

Mr. Seistrup gave his thanks to Mr. Zhou for the good reception and introduced to Mr. Zhou for the history and operation situation of MSS. Mr. Seistrup said they are confident to co-operation with CMIH, as CHIH has achieved a very good records and reputation on the co-operation with other Maersk business sections already, he believed that, with the concern from the top management level of the yard, the conversion project of “Maersk Nomad” should be completed smoothly in good quality and on time, then the vessel the vessel can be delivered to Exxon Mobile for her new mission in West Australia.

Mr. Zhou and Mr. Seistrup also exchanged ideas regarding the set-up of CM Offshore Fund and other interesting topic such as new building co-operation. Mr. Seistrup Said MSS is willing to consider to the business co-operation on the offshore related vessels in the near future.
