As per the instructions by the Vietnamese government controlled PetroVietnam, PTSC G&S has been assigned to provide the 2D seismic services to all the clients in Vietnam using the 2D seismic vessel Binh Minh 02.

In 2011, PTSC G&S has carried out three 2D seismic surveys for PVN, PVEP POC and Idemitsu with the good quality recognized.

In order to expand the services to 3D seismic survey, beside the discussion with the French seismic specialist CGGVeritas to setup a Joint Venture company, PTSC has been recently approached by Norway’s PGS, which is also one of the leading seismic providers in the world, to offer another possibility to jointly offer 3d seismic services in Vietnam.

The meeting between the managements from PTSC and PGS is scheduled for a third week of March to further discuss the cooperation opportunities. PTSC said it hoped that the cooperation with PGS would help the company position itself as a leading 2D/3D seismic services provider in Vietnam. The company also explained that the ultimate goal would be stepping out to the international market.
