Further to the stock exchange announcements of 31st of January and 18th February 2012, Awilco Drilling PLC confirms that the WilHunter recommenced normal drilling activity yesterday, 21st March, for MPX Energy Ltd on the Orlando well, Block 3/3b in the UKCS, as part of the SPD multi-well multi-client programme.

Awilco Drilling PLC previously reported that the WilHunter rig had incurred technical downtime on January 18, and after that confirmed that the outstanding repair work on the rig was completed on the 31st of January.

Drilling activity, however, could not, until yesterday, re-commence due to well operational difficulties and adverse weather.

WilHunter is one of Awilco Drilling’s two Enhanced Pacesetter semi-submersibles and is equipped for drilling in water depths up to 1,500 ft.
