Eidesvik newbuilding, Viking Prince, was named in an official ceremony in Aalesund, Norway, on 23 March, the company said in a statement.
Viking Prince is the fifth Eidesvik Offshore vessel that is powered by LNG. It is a powerfull supplyship with large volume and large deck space.
The LNG dual fuel engines ensures low NOx and CO2 emissions. The ship is also equipped with a cleaning system for ballast water, which is an upcoming environmental requirement for this type of ship.
Lady sponsor of the vessel is Mrs. Anne Grete Engen, the company’s valued employee for the last 27 years who retired in March this year.
