Vietnam: PVN’s General Manager of Exploration Division Visits M/V Amadeus

On March 21, 2012 in Vung Tau, Doctor of Science (D. Sc.) Phan Tien Vien, the General Manager of Exploration Division, PetroVietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN), accompanied by the Board of Directors of PTSC G&S, representatives of CGGVeritas has paid a visit to the M/V Amadeus.

Simultaneously, the working group led by D. Sc. Phan Tien Vien had a meeting with Vietnam Register Department aiming to carry out the vessel inspection. This move is a part of action plan to complete the capital contribution procedures of both PTSC and CGGVeritas, getting the Joint Venture between PTSC and CGGVeritas to come into operation officially.

M/V Amadeus is a 3D seismic survey vessel which is capable of towing eight of 8 km-long streamers and modernly equipped. It can be utilized to provide survey services in deep waters all around the world. In 2011, the vessel executed successfully survey projects with highly-appreciated service quality for Oil & Gas Contractors in Vietnam, Myanmar. M/V Amadeus is now registered and converted to sail under the Vietnamese flag (previously, its nationality is French.)

The establishment of the Joint Venture is one of the major projects of PTSC in particular and PVN in general. It is expected that, when coming into operation the Joint Venture shall generate positive effectiveness in both economic and political aspects, taking part in fulfilling the assignment of rendering the whole-system services ranging from upstream to downstream of PTSC.
