On March 30th 2012, Hull 470 was launched at Brodosplit Shipyard in Split, Croatia. The launched ship is HANDY BULK carrier type, with a capacity of 51.900 tons and was contracted for domestic shipping company Jadroplov. The contracted ship is being built under Common structural rules, brought by IACS (International Association of Classification Societies).
According to these rules, safety and structural durability of the ship are brought up to the highest level. The construction makes the ship suitable for transport of specific dead weight of 3 tons per meter, such as sulphur, limestone, silicon-manganese, fish flour. All fuel tanks are separated from shell plating, thus with considerably increased security in case of damage.
The length overall of Hull 470 is 189,90 m, breadth 32,24 m, depth 17,10 m and has a capacity of 51.900 tons. The Propulsive machinery consists of diesel engine MAN B&W, type 6S50 MC-C8.2-TII, made by Brodosplit Diesel Engines Factory Ltd, with 7500 kw and speed of 14,50 knots. With implementation of new regulations, main engine is changed, so the Newbuilding will have better features with lower fuel consumption and lower pollution.
Ship will carry double Class: the building is supervised by classification societies Bureau Veritas and Croatian Register of Shipping.
