On 1st April, 2012, Cosco (Guangdong) Shipyard hold naming ceremony for the third new building bulk carrier ordered by Apeejay Shipping company.
Chairman, Mr. Karan Paul announced that Hull N221 (57K DWT of SDARI design) would be named “APJ SHIRIN”.
The vessel was christened by Chairperson Emeritus, Mrs. Shirin Paul.
Cosco Shipyard hosted a grand banquet on the same day which was attended by Family Directors, top management of the shipyard, Lloyd’s register, Apeejay Shipping as well as Apeejay’s on-site supervision team and senior officers of the ship.
