The upgrade of A2SEA’s wind turbine installation vessel Sea Power is complete. The most substantial upgrade was the installation of a more powerful crane to handle the heavy wind turbine components for Anholt Offshore Wind Farm.

The work was carried out in the period from November 2011 to March 2012 and was concluded with the obligatory load test, where the crane lifts a load of approx 254 tonnes corresponding to 110% of the approved lifting capacity.

Sea Power is now in port in Grenaa, and the first real lifts will take place in connection with the installation of the three transformers for Energinet.dk, which each weighs 175 tonnes. The transformers are already standing by on the north quay in Grenaa and will be lifted into place in the end of April.
