According to World Pumps, the new Weir Minerals sales and service centre in Nederweert, the Netherlands, has just supplied €750 000 worth of slurry pumps and spare parts to international marine contractor Van Oord.

The slurry pumps and spare parts are for two new Van Oord cutter dredgers – the Athena and Artemis. Van Oord has more than 150 Weir Minerals pumps operating worldwide.

Tony Locke , managing director of Weir Minerals Europe, said: “ Our new centre in Nederweert is a key hub from which we can support a wide variety of mineral processing or slurry handling industries across the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. It is essential in supporting our expansion both geographically and outside of our core mining customer base.”
