Following their successful entry into the Far East market in 2011 Barnstaple based engineering firm J+S Ltd have been making inroads into the Middle East.
The company have just returned from exhibiting at the 2012 Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (DIMDEX) at the Qatar National Convention Centre where they demonstrated a range of their underwater defence capabilities.
There was particular interest in J+S’ new Echo Sounder – the ES800 – which is currently being installed across both the surface and submarine fleets of the UK Royal Navy and has already been sold as part of a Mine Hunter programme to the Royal Saudi Navy.
The Low Profile Towed Array also attracted considerable attention from the various naval delegations visiting the J+S stand. This innovative development enables operators of coastal patrol vessels and smaller warships such as Corvettes to benefit from a towed array capability which was not possible before given the size and space requirements of the previous generations of Towed Arrays.
The prestigious exhibition was attended by many senior military delegations from the region and further afield.
