Belgium: Colruyt Seeks Co-Investors for Offshore Wind Projects

Colruyt Group is seeking co-investors for several offshore wind projects. The company aims to reduce financial burdens of the investments, reported De Standaard.

Colruyt currently owns two offshore wind farms, Belwind and Northwind.

Northwind NV, formerly known as the Eldepasco, requires 760 million euros for which the European Investment Bank is evaluating a loan of up to 335 million euros. Colruyt owns 66.7% of Northwind NV, wind farm with a capacity of 216 MW, situated 37 km off the coast.

The company also has 26,9% stake in Belwind project off the coast of Zeebrugge.

This projects will assist Belgium in meeting the EU and national targets for 20% of energy to be generated from renewable energy sources by 2020.
