Turkish TPAO Hires GSP Jupiter Rig for Black Sea Drilling

Romania’s GSP Offshore has announced that it has signed a contract for its jack-up drilling rig GSP Jupiter with Turkish national oil and gas company TPAO.

GSP Jupiter has been awarded a contract for offshore drilling services, for Istranca 1 well (+ 1 optional well) on Black Sea Block 3920 on the Turkish continental shelf.

The company’s vessels GSP Vega, AHTS, and GSP Orion, PSV & OSR will provide offshore support services for the rig after the the completion of moving and positioning of the rig.

GSP is performing the offshore drilling activity using its seven drilling rigs: GSP Saturn, GSP Jupiter, GSP Orizont, GSP Atlas, GSP Prometeu, GSP Fortuna and GSP Britannia. Six of the company’s jack-up rigs are cantilever type.
