Recently, Alu Marine successfully delivered a new pilot boat to The Pilots of the Seine (Rouen, France).

The mission of the Maritime Pilots consists in guiding ships which carry 80% of goods worldwide, in the confined waters of ports of France and abroad.

They contribute to the safety, environmental protection and development of local and national economy.

To improve the quality of their services, the Pilots of the Seine have chosen to invest in a “light”, faster and economical pilot boat, which consumes less fuel. The boat is equipped with an IPS Volvo propulsion, an innovative system in the mid workboats that can significantly reduce the carbon impact.

The Alu Marine Shipyard, with the collaboration of the Geronimo Naval Design architect and the research department of Volvo, was able to meet this demanding specifications with the expected quality level. The new pilot boat was launching early April.
