Dana Petroleum plc announced that on 30 April 2012, first gas production began from the Van Nes field located in block P11b within the Medway development area (Dana 50% and operator, EBN 50%).
The subsea well, located on the Dutch continental shelf approximately 60 km north west of The Hague, will produce gas via the Dana-operated De Ruyter platform.
The Van Nes field is expected to produce around 4,000 boepd, with 2,000 boepd net to Dana in 2012.
Commenting on the news, Dana’s Managing Director in The Netherlands, Reidar Hustoft said:
“We are delighted to have brought Van Nes into production, which completes the Medway subsea development project and months of hard work from the teams involved. In January 2012, we successfully completed phase 1 of the Medway project by starting up the Van Ghent tri-lateral oil well .
The Van Nes field is situated approximately 8 km north of the De Ruyter platform. This area is situated in Block P11b, offshore in the Dutch continental shelf.
Hustoft continues: “Van Nes brings Dana’s number of producing fields to 47 internationally and is another example of the success the Dana and KNOC partnership is delivering.”
