Engineer Alan Jordan has joined Jee as a Principal Cables Engineer.

Alan has 38 years experience working with subsea cables, ranging from managing trans-oceanic submarine telecommunications network projects to cable product design and manufacture, installation processes and marine maintenance.

In his new role with Jee, Alan will be responsible for managing all aspects relating to subsea cables, as well as building a strong cables engineering team.

“I’m looking forward to transferring my cable engineering skills to the renewable energy and oil and gas industries,” said Alan.

“There are some exciting developments taking place such as long range power interconnector systems, new offshore energy generation systems and extension of hydrocarbon resource exploitation into deeper waters and I hope to get involved in these areas soon.”

Jee is a subsea engineering and training company with offices in London and Aberdeen. As well as detailed design, FEED, integrity management and engineering analysis services, it also specialises in complex subsea challenges such as vortex induced vibrations, overtrawling and intelligent pigging. The company has plans for growth for 2012-2013 which will increase the number of staff to 100.
