Husky Energy’s SeaRose Floating Production Storage Offloading (FPSO) vessel on Friday entered the Conception Bay on the northeast coast of the island of Newfoundland, Canada, The Telegram reports.

SeaRose FPSO, the 272-metre long, 46-metre wide vessel, will be there until May 24, preparing for a journey across the Atlantic Ocean.

The vessel that is operating at the White Rose oil field, 350km off the Newfoundland coast, has been disconnected and will sail to Northern Ireland for a scheduled maintenance.

The entire program, including disconnect, dry dock and reconnecting activities, is expected to last approximately 125 days.

Harland and Wolff Heavy Industries Ltd, a Belfast based shipyard, has been contracted for the job.

James Lappin, H&W Project Manager , in February commented on the contract award: “This is an important opportunity, not only for H&W but for Northern Ireland, to extend a welcome to our Canadian visitors and demonstrate our world class facilities.”
