KPM Marine, manufacturer of specialist safety products for the marine industry, entered the renewable energy industry by developing a shock mitigation seat for offshore wind farm service boats.
As the Birmingham Post informs, the company has increased its annual revenue from GBP 50,000 to GBP 750,000 in just three years, during which it worked closely with accountancy firm Smith Cooper.
The seat for offshore wind farm service boats is 40 % lighter and better suited. It is also safer for use on the sea and it can be removed easily.
Since the offshore wind market is expanding rapidly, KPM’s next obvious step was to be a part of it. However, it needed funding and Smith Cooper helped the company’s business.
