Qatargas Takes Part in WGC 2012

Qatargas is participating as a ‘Principal Sponsor’ at the 25th World Gas Conference (WGC 2012) being held from 4 – 8 June in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The theme for this year’s event is – “Gas – Sustaining Future Global Growth”.

The Qatargas delegation to the event is led by Khalid Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Qatargas Chief Executive Officer. In addition to chairing key sessions, Qatargas will present several papers as well as participate in panel discussions and poster sessions.

Commenting on Qatargas’ participation in the conference, Khalid Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Qatargas CEO said: “ The World Gas Conference is a key event on the international LNG events calendar. Events like these bring together key players in the LNG business, as well as industry experts, and create opportunities for knowledge sharing and networking. As the world’s largest LNG producing company, it is an opportunity for us to showcase our success story. ”

The World Gas Conference, the biggest and most important global gas industry event, is organised once every three years by the International Gas Union (IGU). Over 5000 industry professionals are expected to attend, ranging from CEOs of leading organisations, government officials, and industry experts.

Qatargas is represented in the IGU via its LNG committee, one of the 13 industry committees within the Union. Alaa Abujbara, Qatargas Chief Operating Officer – Commercial & Shipping is the LNG Committee Chairman and a member of the IGU Executive Committee.

Qatargas is also participating in the WGC exhibition being held in conjunction with the conference, as part of the Qatar Petroleum pavillion. The Qatargas stand highlights the company’s achievements known for its people, innovation, operating excellence and corporate social responsibility.
