Dredging project at Batemans Bay, New South Wales, is ready to commence, ABC News reports.

About $450,000 from the year’s budget was allocated for this project which is expected to start in late July.

The Government stated that the project will focus on dredging of the entrance bar of Clyde River. The Long Beach Community Association stated that the dredged sand will be placed back into the Bay, rather than dumped on Corrigans Beach.

The Member for Bega, Andrew Constance said that the people at Long Beach have been assured that there will be no environmental impact: “ Assurance has been given through the work that was done via the department that there wouldn’t be environmental impacts. ”
