Oil and gas engineering group Penspen has announced plans to open a new office in Mexico City to expand on its existing bases in Ciudad de Carmen and Comalcalco. The office will be Penspen’s third location in Mexico.
Penspen has had a strong presence in Mexico for over 15 years, undertaking a wide range of integrity, engineering and project management work including Consultancy to Comision Federal de Electricidad for the IPP Programme, Development of Norms and Licensing for LNG importation for Comision Reguladora Energia, Engineering for Aeropuertos y Servicios Auxiliares and more recently Integrity Engineering with Diavaz and Mexssub for the maintenance of PEMEX’s System 1 Facilities in the Gulf of Mexico, Tabasco and Campeche.
The new Mexico City office will enable Penspen to step up its activities in pipeline maintenance, performance improvement of existing oil and gas infrastructure, and training. It will also conduct techno-economic studies to support investment decisions regarding new pipelines and facilities.
The office will be headed up by Mauricio Moreno Ramirez and will provide a high-calibre centre of technical excellence to support Penspen’s further expansion across Latin America.
The growth of Mexico’s shale gas sector, combined with the fact that many of its oil and gas facilities are coming towards the end of their productive life, make this a key market for Penspen, which has provided infrastructure-related consultancy services to the oil and gas industry for almost 60 years.
