Today at PTSC fabrication yard in Vung Tau City, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (S.R. Vietnam), PetroVietnam Technical Services Corporation (PTSC) hosted a load-out and sail-away ceremony for the PQP-HT Jacket, Bien Dong 1 (BD1) project, built for Bien Dong POC.
The scope of work of the whole project encompasses the engineering, procurement, construction, installation, offshore hook-up support for 01 Central Processing Platform (PQP-HT) (including a 70-person-on-board living quarter); 02 Wellhead Platforms namely Hai Thach 1 (HT1) and Moc Tinh 1 (MT1), 03 jackets (PQP-HT, WHP-MT1 and WHP-HT1); 01 Link Bridge of which the total weight of facilities is approximately 60,000MT coupled with 70km pipelines and 21km subsea cables.
Speaking at the ceremony, leaders of PTSC said that having been awarded BD1 project is PTSC’s glorious mission yet very challenging in terms of technology and execution schedule. So far has this project been considered as one of the most technically complicated offshore projects in Vietnam. The successful completion of the project will mark important milestones and become the outstanding track record in Vietnam offshore oil & gas segment.
The very tight 29-month schedule of the project has presented many challenges to PTSC in general and PTSC M&C in particular. However, Bien Dong POC and PTSC have been side by side in each and every issue from detailed engineering, procurement, onshore fabrication to offshore installation. The integrated team formed by PTSC and Bien Dong POC have been striving daily in pursuit of work to ensure the smooth and successful project realization, safety, and high quality. Up to 14th June 2012, the project has achieved more than 8 million man-hours without any lost time incidents.
Having BD1 project fully completed will be PTSC’s, typically PTSC M&C’s turning point in its capability development process and help position the company to be one of the preferred strategic partners and EPC/EPCI contractors in the country and the region.
