VERIPOS has been awarded a two year extension on its GNSS positioning contract with ER Offshore GmbH, the subsidiary of the Hamburg-based shipping organisation ER Schiffahrt. The extended contract is to support ER Offshore’s fleet of 11 platform supply vessels (PSVs) and two anchor handling tug supply vessels (AHTS).
Under the new arrangement VERIPOS will continue to supply nine of ER Offshore’s PSVs with its VERIPOS Standard high-precision augmentation service providing metre-level accuracies. A further two vessels will utilise its latest VERIPOS Standard² service, which offers an additional Glonass capability. ER Offshore’s two 86-metre AHTS craft, ER Luisa and ER Vittoria will also utilise the VERIPOS Standard² service.
All ER Offshore’s 13 vessels, which are maintained and chartered for worldwide operations, are already permanently equipped with configurable VERIPOS LD2 integrated mobile units. These generate any proprietary positioning solutions in addition to outputting data and measurements to external processing or quality control software.
Commenting on the contract extension with ER Offshore, Michael Garden, VERIPOS’ Operations Manager for Europe Africa and Middle East Region said: “This marks a further important stage in continuing our four year working relationship with one of Europe’s leading offshore ship management organisations in Europe.”
