Brazil is to overcome Norway as the world’s largest offshore market in 2015 says analyst Rystad Energy. NCE Subsea cooperates with Brazilian organizations to enhance business opportunities.

In a ceremony in São Paulo, NCE Subsea and Federação das Indústrias do Estado de São Paulo (FIESP) – the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo – signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The aim of the MoU is to foster cooperation between Brazilian and Norwegian companies, R&D and educational institutions.

The objective of the MoU

Collaborate in promoting technological cooperation and matchmaking between subsea related enterprises, primarily small and medium sized companies (SMEs), by supporting innovative projects in which there is allowed the participation of research institutions.

Coordinate the use of their own mechanisms for promoting and funding, in order to facilitate partnerships between São Paulo state and Norwegian subsea related enterprises in the development of new technologies, products, processes or services.

Implement actions to support increasing competitiveness and the internationalization of subsea related SMEs in Norway and São Paulo state through international cooperation and technology transfer.

Collaborate in promoting the National Innovation Systems of both countries and exchange experiences in managing innovation and managing public and private resources for innovative companies in Brazil and Norway.

FIESP will also become a partner in NCE Subsea’s bi-lingual Subsea Index, a matchmaking database to be launched in Vitoria Brazil on Thursday September 20. They urge member companies related to the subsea industry to register in the database.

In the years to come many Norwegian and Brazilian Joint Ventures and R&D projects are expected, especially within the subsea segment. Cooperation between industry organizations in both countries will support and be a catalyst in the development of new business opportunities.
