Transfield Worley – a 50/50 joint venture between Transfield Services and WorleyParsons – has been awarded the first phase of a three phased contract for the establishment of the Asset Integrity and Maintenance build as part of the INPEX-operated $34 billion Ichthys LNG Project.

The first phase of the four-year contract commences this month.

The TW joint venture will be responsible for the collection, validation and compilation of data for INPEX to incorporate into their asset management and integrity processes as part of the Ichthys LNG Project.

A team from around the world will be used to deliver the services. Project management will be delivered from Perth, INTECSEA in Houston and WorleyParsons Asset Integrity Solutions in Melbourne will each contribute their expertise to key elements.

Transfield Services’ wholly owned subsidiary, Hofincons will deliver maintenance and materials engineering services as well as maintenance data preparation and management services within the client’s CMMS system. The Hofincons team will be based out of the Chennai office.

“This strategically significant win demonstrates Transfield Services ability to deploy our technical asset management serves and leverage our international capabilities in the Australian market,” said Joe Sofra, Chief Executive of Resources and Energy at Transfield Services. “We look forward to working as part of the joint venture to deliver a world class outcome for INPEX.”

“We are pleased to be collaborating with the broader Transfield Services Group on strategic opportunities such as this” said L Sekhar, General Manager of Hofincons . “We hope this will be the first of many projects where Hofincons assists in delivering value added services to our Australian clients”

The Ichthys LNG Project is a joint venture between INPEX (operator), Total, Tokyo Gas, Osaka Gas, Toho Gas and Chubu Electric. Gas from the Ichthys Field, in the Browse Basin approximately 200 kilometres offshore of Western Australia, will undergo preliminary processing offshore to remove water and extract condensate. The gas will then be exported to onshore processing facilities in Darwin via an 889km subsea pipeline. The Ichthys LNG Project is expected to produce 8.4 million tonnes of LNG and 1.6 million tonnes of LPG per annum, along with approximately 100,000 barrels of condensate per day at peak.

Hoficons T&C is a wholly owned subsidiary of Transfield Services. With over 30 years’ experience, Hofincons delivers value added services to clients in the oil and gas, petrochemical, power and manufacturing industries. Our 100+ engineers deliver services including asset management consultancy, maintenance and materials engineering, master data services (preparation, execution, verification and analysis), ERP / CMMS services as well as reliability studies, condition monitoring and criticality analysis of assets.
