FSUE “Rosmorport” General Director Andrei Lavrishchev and representatives of other Enterprise’s profile departments, on October, 31. 2012, participated the meeting dedicated to preparations for the winter navigation 2012-2013 in freezing ports of Russian Federation.
The meeting headed by the Federal Agency of Maritime and River Transport head Alexandr Davydenkp, took place in Moscow. The event was also participated by representatives of the Mintrans of Russia, Rosmorrechflot, sea ports administrations, profile state and commercial enterprises.
Meeting participants discussed issues of the FSUE “Rosmorport” icebreakers preparedness for the forthcoming navigation and for the organization of hydrometeorological maintenance, and also discussed obligatory regulations on freezing sea ports of Russian Federation.
As a result, it was decided to approve the FSUE “Rosmorport”‘ plan of icebreakers placement for the icebreaking assistance period till November, 10. Sea ports’ captains are orderes to form the ice operations headquarters and to provide news coverage of their activity.
The same day in Saint Petersburg the FSUE “Rosmorport” press service organized and excursion of the Moskva icebreaker. This happened under the scheme of the FREIGHT-2012 International Conference. The Conference participants and mass-media representatives were given an opportunity to find out more about the FSUE “Rosmorport” activity on the navigation safety provision in freezing sea ports. Youriy Akhomkin, the icebreaker’s captain, gave an ice situation forecast for the winter navigation 2012-2013 and told about the icebreaker placement peculiarities. Special attention was drawn to the creation of the ice advisers institution of the FSUE “Rosmorport” experienced pilots. It would be helpful to provide services on safe ice pilotage outside normal pilotage areas for vessels, which captains don’t have ice navigation experience.
“As on October, 2012 selection of candidates for ice advisers was made. Provision of Services on Safe Pilotage by Ice Advisers Statute, – told Youriy Akhromkin . – Information on offered services will be published on the FSUE “Rosmorport” web site. Agenting companies will be also informed”.
“We are planning to finish creation of the ice advisers institution of the FSUE “Rosmorport” experienced pilots during winter navigation 2012-2013″ , – added Akhromkin.
