The National Oceanography Center was established on Friday in Xiamen, reports China Daily.
The center will speed up the development of the region’s marine technology.
It was set up as a joint project by the State Oceanic Administration, the Ministry of Education, the Fujian provincial government, and universities and institutes with oceanography studies, including Xiamen University.
Fuijan is set to boost marine development with attracting elites in the field.
