Leighton Offshore has completed its Iraq Crude Oil Export Expansion Project (ICOEEP) Operations and Maintenance contract for client South Oil Company .
Leighton has been successfully operating and maintaining the offshore Single Point Mooring (SPM) systems, which were also installed by Leighton, since achieving first oil earlier this year.
Leighton’s scope of work included SPM Mooring operations, tanker hose connections, scheduled maintenance, engineering support, diving services, oil pollution emergency response as well as training for South Oil Company staff.
Since March this year, Leighton has successfully loaded 78 tankers with 143,794,899 barrels of oil with no safety or environmental incidents.
“We are very proud of our record of safely operating and maintaining one of the world’s largest export terminals here in Iraq, after the successful installation by Leighton of the pipelines and SPM systems” , Leighton Offshore CEO Boyd Merrett said. “This further builds on our record in the Life of Field services business, and we will be targeting similar work in the future”.
Leighton will commence installation of a fourth SPM system as part of the overall ICOEEP expansion in December this year.
