Padraig McShane, a Councillor in Moyle, sees great opportunities in tidal energy project off Torr Head and has called the local business community in Ballycastle and the Glens to use them.
Councillor McShane is about to meet with the developer Tidal Ventures Ltd, to discuss the project’s impact and potential, Ballymoney Times news site informs.
He emphasised the commitment from the company to employ locally, thus paving the way for a big boost of local economy.
Tidal Ventures is a joint venture between Bord Gáis and OpenHydro for development of a 100MW tidal energy farm off the North Coast, with potential to supply electricity for 75,000 households.
