The platform supply vessel Blue Prosper of PX121 design delivered by ULSTEIN in September has won a long-term contract with Apache for work in the North Sea. Her sister vessel, Blue Fighter, has renewed her contract with Apache.
Blue Prosper was delivered from Ulstein Verft to Blue Ship Invest on 6 September, and entered the spot market in the British North Sea sector directly. The vessel has proved to be very attractive, and recently entered into a one year contract with the oil and gas exploration and production company Apache, with a one year option.
Her sister vessel, Blue Fighter, was awarded a similar contract after her delivery in January this year. Recently, it entered into a new one-year contract for the same company, with a one year option, effective as of February 2013 when the current contract is finished.
Apache has provided excellent feedback on the two vessels, as well as Remøy Shipping, that has technical and commercial management of the vessels on behalf of the owner, Blue Ship Invest. The two vessels are the first of six vessels of this design to be constructed at Ulstein Verft, the remaining four will be delivered during 2013.
The ships have a length of 83.4 metres and a beam of 18 metres. They have a cargo deck of 875 square metres and a load capacity of 4200 tonnes (dwt). Among others the ships meet the requirements of DNV’s Clean Design notation. They have a maximum speed of approximately 15 knots and modern accommodation for 24 persons.
Both vessels are stationed in Peterhead, Scotland.
