Veripos, world leaders for provision of high-precision GNSS positioning solutions to the offshore oil and gas industry, has been awarded a two-year extension to its present contract with seismic survey specialists SeaBird Exploration FZ-LLC of Dubai, a division of the Norwegian SeaBird Exploration Group.
The contract covers continuing supply of satellite positioning services aboard two SeaBird Exploration dual-propulsion seismic vessels operating in Asia Pacific regions, Aquila Explorer and Voyager Explorer. They consist of Veripos’s latest Apex2 precise point positioning facility using both GPS and Glonass networks for realisation of 10cm accuracies together with Verify QC software for delivery of real-time position and quality control information.
Proprietary hardware upgraded aboard both vessels includes new heading units in addition to LD4 HDT integrated mobile receivers for calculating differing positional solutions as well as GNSS headings.
