Regen SW, the renewable energy experts, has published the sixth edition of their pocket sized supply chain directory for the Offshore Wind and Marine Energy sector. The guide features over 350 south west companies from manufacturing through to professional services who have expertise and capability which will be needed to support the growing offshore sector.

Nick Kirsop-Taylor, Regen SW offshore project manager says: “Every year we publish the guide, we discover new companies and new opportunities in this exciting sector. A key feature of the south west is the strength in depth we have in areas such as engineering, marine operations, environmental sciences and advanced manufacturing – all critical services for the marine energy industry.”

The directory, which also highlights the test and research facilities available across the region, will be widely distributed to technology developers, investors, international businesses and offshore energy developers to promote the south west.

The launch of the directory has been planned to coincide with a major offshore energy supply chain conference which will be held at Sandy Park, Exeter on 5 December. This event, which is being hosted by the offshore wind farm developer RWE npower renewables, will be used to showcase south west companies and also to highlight the opportunities for new companies entering the sector.

Nicholas Ames, managing director of Supacat Ltd , who will be speaking at the offshore conference on behalf of the Heart of the South West Local Enterprise Partnership says: “There are a growing number of companies such as Supacat who have recognised the opportunities to grow their business in the offshore energy sector. Our priority is to make sure that we take advantage of this industry growth and promote our businesses both in the south west and to the wider industry market.”
