Next week, key players in the tidal energy community will descend to London for the 6th International Tidal Energy Summit and Awards Ceremony (28-29 November, The Grange Tower Bridge Hotel).

With over 350 attendees, 45 speakers and 25 exhibitors, ITES2012 remains the biggest and most comprehensive networking forum for the international tidal community. A new focus on project finance has attracted key financiers as well as major stakeholders looking to mitigate the risk of investing in commercial scale tidal energy installations.

The 6th Tidal Summit promises to be an especially important event following a number of acquisitions and promises of commitment from high profile industrial OEMs/utilities. With several device developers being now wholly owned by industrial stakeholders, 2013 is set to be major year for the industry to start working in earnest towards the EU’s target of 20% by 2020. New supply chains are required, and developers are keen to secure contracts with suppliers early. Attendance from all the major international device developers and stakeholders means that ITES is set to be an essential for those looking to succeed in the tidal industry.
